Get Out and Vote!

Back home...

We left the house at 5:30am to get to the polls well before they opened at 6am.

Hubs rode with me and the fella that pools with him was going to swing by and pick him up at the school after he voted.
Well, I topped the hill right near the school and cars were traffic jammed already - at 5:40am! I pulled forward to drop him off at the door and the line was over 3 blocks long. We had about a 20 min. wait before the doors opened and once they did, my polling precinct had it well organized for a relatively quick in and out. Broken down into 4 lines, according to the first letter of your last name, they had about 15 electronic booths set up against one wall and a line of tables set up against the opposite wall for any who wanted to magic mark their ballots.

All told, the entire process was about 70 minutes long and as we exited the school, I looked up at the horizon and saw a line twice as long as the one I stood in waiting to vote. I was so glad to see the turnout - because this is so important! this is a big race and folks (thankfully) want their voice to be heard. Hubs wondered outloud how many ppl would have seen the lines and turned around - not many, I hope!!

Glad I voted early last week, coz FL has had lines that were HOURS long for early voting, and it will probably be worse today...
This is gonna be a lonnnnnnnnnng night for me - I'm not goin to bed until it's evident who is winning..

Good Morning, Cook!

Hubby and I voted yesterday afternoon after he returned home from school. It was a great feeling - knowing we exercised our right to cast our ballot.

Hoping you are well and enjoying a few more rides during this fabulous stretch of warm & sunny weather!

xo,
Dana
