I Wish I Was There!

40 years ago today was the start of an event down at Max Yasgur's 600 acre farm that will be remembered forever ... and how I wish I had been a part of it!

Woodstock was the place to be - and even though I was only 15 at the time, I was raising myself up, going to school and being happy. Had someone asked me to ride along with them, I'm sure I would have jumped at the chance.

Times were different back then, the atmosphere was filled with friendship and love - not violence and ugliness like it is today. I had a circle of about 20 friends and we were closer than family. I couldn't even drive yet, but oh yeah - I would have considered long and hard a little drive to upstate New York!

The lineup of artists was amazing (although I have to giggle now at the thought of Sha Na Na performing in the midst of this talent)
and still remember those words echoed in the micrphone as the clouds were forming ... "look - behind you ... the weathah"!
